Diamond Bakery is excited to be celebrating its 97th anniversary today on October 12th, 2018. What started off as a dream between three Japanese immigrants has grown to become a household name in Hawaii.

“We’ve been Hawaii’s favorite way to snack since 1921,” said Gary Yoshioka, President of Diamond Bakery Company, Ltd. “We are incredibly proud to be one of Hawaii’s oldest companies, baking over 1 million crackers a day right here at our factory.”

The company is celebrating by sending its Aloha Team to the top of Diamond Head to surprise the first 97 climbers with product giveaways. This event will kick off a year of giving through Diamond Bakery’s #CrackerKindness campaign.

“We’re asking for the public’s help to submit community events that they think our Aloha Team should attend over the next 12 months,” said Yoshioka. “Every month we’ll post the events where the street team will be sharing our new products and of course a lot of aloha!”

“As we celebrate another year of success, we’re incredibly thankful to the people of Hawaii for their support,” said Yoshioka “We take our cookies very seriously and based on the recent success at the Made In Hawaii Festival we are certain locals will love the new flavors and easy to snack & store packaging!”

Last year Diamond Bakery added a number of products, including two totally new lines — Hawaiian Biscuits and Hawaiian Bites.

“We may be 97 years old but we’re still innovating,” said Yoshioka. “2019 is going to be another busy year for us. We have lines of projects filling our pipeline for new product development, including a redesign of our iconic Hawaiian Soda Crackers red box packaging.
