August, 2015 – Hilo Hattie announced today that they have welcomed a crunchy new addition to their Flagship Nimitz location – Diamond Bakery, which has been sharing heartwarming aloha with the people of Hawaii since 1921 with its famous crackers and cookies.

“Diamond Bakery is one of the oldest Made-In-Hawaii brands,” said Donald B.S. Kang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pomare, Ltd., “And their mission, like ours, is to share heartwarming aloha with the world so we couldn’t be happier to welcome them to our store.”

Diamond Bakery started off as a dream between three Japanese immigrants, Hidegoro Murai, Kikutaro Hiruya and Natsu Muramoto, who all enjoyed baking and had a vision to create Hawaii’s first bakery focused on the perfect Hawaiian-made cracker. They named their company Diamond Bakery, after the famous Diamond Head landmark.

“Our most timeless, iconic product line includes Soda Crackers, Graham, Salty, Saloon Pilot, and Royal Creem, along with Ruff ‘N Ready, Coconut, Candy Bead, Coconut Taffy, and Animal cookies,” said Gary Yoshioka President of Diamond Bakery. “We are very excited to partner with Hilo Hattie and expand our audience to include more visitors.”

Diamond Bakery is developing a new premium line of Shortbread Cookies and Fancy Creem Sandwich Crackers that will come in delectable tropical flavors including Original, Lilikoi, Coconut, and Guava. “For our new Fancy Creem crackers we are taking our popular Royal Creem Cracker and nesting a cloud of cream filling between them,” said Yoshioka. “We hope both our Premium Shortbread Cookies and Fancy Creem Sandwich Crackers will be an instant hit and are pleased that Hilo Hattie is going to be among the first local retailers to carry the line.”

Hilo Hattie invites guests who want to add a little of Diamond Bakery’s signature crunch to their day to stop by the Nimitz flagship store to sample some of its newest products. And for a limited time only, customer can get a FREE snack bag of selected Diamond Bakery cookies with any purchase.
