August, 2016  – Today Diamond Bakery & the Waikiki Aquarium created a snack attack zone for Pokémon players camped outside of the Aquarium. The mascots for the Animal Sea Life crackers passed out hundreds of free samples of Diamond Bakery’s Sea Life Animal Crackers to help bring awareness to the second oldest public aquarium in the United States and support the conservation of pacific marine life.

“With all the craze for Pokémon we thought it would be fun to use the players as a way to bring more awareness to Hawaii’s fish and ocean preservation” said Gary Yoshioka, President of Diamond Bakery Company, Ltd. “We were overwhelmed with the aloha from Pokémon players and hope that people take advantage of the special offer offered by the Aquarium to experience the facility and help us promote sea life preservation efforts all year round.”

The Waikiki Aquarium is offering a special Pokémon admission rate of just $5 valid now through September 30th, 2016 from 2pm-4pm daily.

“At first we were not really sure how to handle the number of people gathered outside of our establishment” said Marylou Foley Director of Community Outreach for the Waikiki Aquarium “but we have always known the Aquarium was a hot-spot for Hawaii’s marine life and it’s nice to see that the app agrees!”

In addition to the random Pokémon snack attacks, Diamond Bakery is also offering aquarium guests who take advantage of the special Pokémon Discount, a complimentary bag of it’s popular Sea Life Crackers from August 8th– August 15th.
